Sewer Crawler

For lack of any other news here’s an monster excerpted from the little module I’m writing.  The environment is an active sewer that the party, a group of apprentices, malcontents, minor lawbreakers doing community service have been sent to clean up using a magical apparatus.

Anyway, one of the things that the party will encounter are these things.  These particular ones are roughly 6′ long and about a 1′ wide at the head.  Vestigal looking limbs, kind of like a mud skipper, propel the creatures through the sewers and let them launch at their targets bursting up out of the sewage. Their head end is mostly maw, a wide opening circled by row after row of inward pointing teeth. They don’t have eyes, swimming in raw sewage, a farily acidic environment kinda makes that an evolutionary dead end and instead their bodies are covered with very short tendrils that pick up vibrations from their surroundings and vi

Tactically they normally do not bother large mobile creatures but there are reasons that they don’t follow their normal behavior in this case.

As a Lurker they have a way to gain stealth once per encounter pretty much guaranteed.  They heave up and then splash back down in a swirling motion sending raw sewage sheeting out which grants them superior concealment and a decent chance to stealth.  And it blinds anyone in a 1 square blast with things better left unmentioned.
