erleni has scripted out a pretty good aftermath for the Keep on the Shadowfell adventure involving undead, draco-liches and the like. The players have won, they’ve defeated the BBEG and they’re sitting back at the tavern, “We got the tools, we got the talent….its Miller time!”.
Then what happens? Well “he’s not quite dead yet.” and a wave of undead’ness sweeps across the land giving rise to a young dragon skeleton in the form of a draco-liche and turning the good people they worked so hard to save into undead, undead-o.

Hello, here’s the backbone of the adventure I will run for my players after KotS. The main inspirations were Resident Evil IV and Red Hand of Doom (battle of Brindol).
Placing an hook in KotS
My player’s accepted the mission to clean up the keep from the deceased paladin. The paladin called the bless of the Raven Queen on the PCs. At that very time they have been marked with a magical tattoo in the shape of the head of a raven. This tattoo will act as the protective statuettes in the fight with Kalarel so I removed the (silly) statuettes from the game.Background
The destruction of the portal creates a necrotic energy wave that slowly propagates in the Shadowfell until it finds another place where a faint link is present: the burial site of the dragon and reanimates it as a young dracolich at the service of Orcus (there’s a discussion about this monster in the monster forum). The dracolich is instructed by Orcus to go to the PCs city and take by force the local temple of the Raven Queen, which is, by its own very nature linked to the Shadowfell, in order to open a new connection similar the one present in the keep. The wave itself moves west towards the PCs city as it is atracted by links between the Shadowfell and the material world.
In the meantime the PCs go back to the small city they came from at the beginning of KotS. While they are sitting at the tavern the wave and the dracolich arrive. All the people in the city except those protected by the Raven Queen (i.e. PCs, a small group of shadar-kai which lives in the city and those who are living in the temple) is turned into an undead.
The PCs feel a strange dazing sensation for a moment, but then the symbols start glowing and it passes away. Unfortunately now they are sitting in a tavern filled with undead.

I really like the shading and pencil work that was involved how long did the final draft take?
