Between fighting and chasing they killed the bad guys and captured the bad guy and the knife. The bad guy unfortunately died. Too bad. They were going to deliver the knife the High Mage of the town although Sitting Bull was having none of that and pretended to go off to the inn but secretly followed the party to the town hall.
There he saw the rest of the party captured by the same mage who showed up at the auction house. Smart he thought to himself.
The party woke up to find themselves in front of the High Mage, he gave them a simple task and a ‘orrible curse. They had 48 hours to kill the man responsible for the whole thing, a diplomat from Spain. They also had 48 hours to be 150 miles away from town or die from the Death Curse he put on them. He really didn’t care which way they went with it, he was just cleaning up the mess.
The party left to go after the diplomat on his ship in the harbor. There they had a rollicking good time boarding and taking the ship from the slave labor and the diplomat and his mage. Sitting bull got to use ballista’s on a couple of people and everyone else beat the snot out the slaves (mooks). The mage wasn’t able to take a ballista bolt to the chest and went down quite nicely. The diplomat was the target of combined attacks and also died quickly. Teamwork rocks.
With the bosses dead and hauled out onto the deck to show the slave labor they took the ship without much more fighting.
They set sail and headed for the north reaches and passed the 150 mile mark without too much trouble.
It was at that point that they realized they’d left the Eye buried back on the beach…
But as was pointed out, Sitting Bull escaped the Death Curse although the others question whether it’s real or not and conceivably he could go back and pick up the Eye. Of course that does require a bit of trust on everyone’s part.
